Zoro X Reader: Mind Games Ch2

Dawn rolled around, and you were startled awake by the commotion of the crew preparing to sail out. You heard the clanking of the anchors being hoisted up and the flapping sound of the sails catching the wind.

"On to our next adventure!" You heard Luffy call out as they left the island, never to return. You sighed, relieved. You had done it! You managed to sneak on board their ship undetected and now all you had to do was wait in your little hiding spot until they reached the next island.

However, your intrusion wasn't as undetected as you had thought. Zoro knew that someone had sneaked on board last night, but since there was no further activity from you, he decided to wait until they were far out to sea before he confronted you.

"Oy, Zoro!" Luffy called to him. "Why did you take the entire night shift last night?"

"Oh, I couldn't sleep. I felt too wound up." Zoro replied.

"Eh? That's not like you, Zoro." Robin observed as she looked up from her book.

Damn, Robin always knew when he was lying. He could read it on her face that she knew something was bothering him.

"Don't worry about it, Robin." Zoro said bluntly. Trying to end the conversation. Thankfully, Robin took the hint and said nothing more and went back to her book.

Three hours, he thought to himself. Three hours and I'll expose the intruder, but before that..a nap. I'm beat. Zoro found his usual spot on the ship and put his hands behind his head as a makeshift pillow and fell asleep.

(Three hours later)

Zoro pulls himself out of his much needed slumber and stretched and yawned. Damn, he really did need a few more hours, but he dared not permit this intruder to grow comfortable in his hiding place. He forced himself to get up and become aware and alert.

He then headed towards the storage room, it was really the only place that could hide a stowaway.

You sat in your little corner, quiet as a church mouse on Sunday as you heard heavy footsteps approaching to storage room. How could he have figured your presence already? Shit, this was bad. If Zoro found you now, he would surely throw you over board and into the ocean, whether he knew of your devil fruit powers or not. Your discovery, would mean your demise.

You concentrated and tried to build a small barrier that would blind his perceptive senses, but every time his foot came down, it made a loud booming sound that shook your concentration, destroying your illusion. That was really the only flaw with your powers. You had to be completely focused in order for them to work effectively.

The door opened and a large figure stood in the door way, it was, as you had guessed, Roronoa Zoro. You silently cursed your bad luck as he observed the entire room. Starting form the corner opposite from you and making his 180 degree scan of the environment. When he got to your corner, he took several steps closer and you held your breath.

"I know you're there. Come out before I have to force you out."

Shit! You were spotted, you didn't know how, since you were practically invisible to most eyes, but Zoro's eyes, as you had underestimated, were more keener than most peoples'. Panic began to take over your body, making your thoughts jumbled and irrational. Your fight or flight response began to kick in and since you were not strong enough to take on the swordsman, you decided to run for it.

You saw that you had an opening to your left and you took it. You blasted out a powerful psionic blast that hit Zoro square in the chest, but it only pushed him back a few feet. Your attacks were not useful when you were panicking so your attempts to get away only pissed him off. As you ran, he grabbed one of your wrists and grabbed a handful of your (h/c) hair. You gave a small cry as the pain shot through your body all the way to your toes. Zoro twisted your captured arm behind your back, preventing any further means of escape for you. You were caught.

"You've got thirty seconds to tell me who you are, and what you're doing on this ship." Zoro growled threateningly in your ear. His presence was overwhelming, as it seemed to match or even surpass your own aura when you had your wits about you.

He pulled at your hair and twisted your arm a little more, making you stand on your tip toes to keep your arm from breaking.

"Ow!" You cried softly, "My n-name is (f/n)...and...I crept on to your ship to escape the island you had just left from."

"Are you a prisoner?" Zoro demanded, not releasing his hold on you.

You shook you head, "No."

"Then why did you want to leave?"

"You wouldn't understand!"

Zoro growled again, "I'm not in the mood to play games with you, girly. If you don't answer my questions, I'll throw you over board."

"N-no, Please don't! I can't swim!"

"Can't swim? So your a devil fruit user?"

"Yes, I ate the Mind Mind fruit. I can read peoples' minds and create illusions and even attack their minds."

Zoro stiffened, "So that weak attack just now as you tried to escape. That was your power?"

You shook your head again, "My attacks are only powerful when I concentrate, If I'm rushed or panicked, my attacks won't do anything."

"I see." Zoro pulled out a pair of seastone cuffs that Law had given to them after the Dressrosa incident, he had tucked them into his Haramaki during his night shift. He pulled your wrist threw one of the cuffs and and locked it. You immediately felt weak as your skin came into contact with the cuffs.

You fell to your knees as Zoro let go of your hair and reached for your other wrist. Your (h/l) hair covering your face as he locked the second and final cuff around your wrist.

"Sea...stone cuffs..." you whispered weakly. Zoro grabbed your arm and hoisted you up of the ground and over his shoulder. He walked out onto the deck, where the entire crew watched as he dropped you down to the ground.
