Again with the angel dreams....

This one put me in a sour mood all day!

I dreamt that my family was on a mountain hiking trip. I was much older and my youngest brother was in his upper teens. My mother was not included in the trip but my stepdad was in charge. We were on our way down from the mountain top and it started to rain. Hard. The trail began to run muddy and it grew increasingly difficult to keep our footing. I became so focused on my own foot placement that I lost track of my brother. At the foot of the mountain, we became aware that there was one less member of our party. Luckily there was a trail horse ready for me, so I mounted him and rode back up the trail, calling out my brothers name. The rain had lessened, but still not any less treacherous. I came upon a ridge that had a steep drop off if one were to slip...

Again I called out my brother's name. I heard a weak moan. I peered over the ridge and saw my brother his leg caught one a broken blade that had managed to stick out from the ground. I was worried that it had severed an artery and he would bleed out before I could get him down the mountain. Carefully, I slid down the muddy terrain to reach him. I used my belt to tie off the blood supply above the wound and I removed the blade, it's metal curved, almost wickedly. A small hole on the edge of the back of the blade for either show or function. The tip of the blade curved upward for extra piercing damage.

I slung my brother over my shoulder fireman style and slowly walked back up the ridge. Once I reached the top, I placed him on the horse and was about to mount the animal and make my way down the trail, when I saw the feathered creature. He appeared male in figure, but lacked any male genitals. He had a smirk on his face.

"The fuck do you want?" I ask irritated at his presence.

"I want my blade back." He stated, a hint of coy in his voice.

I held up the bloodied blade for him to see. He nodded at it, confirming that it was his.

"I...dropped it." He said.

"BULLSHIT." I shouted. Putting the pieces together and becoming increasingly angry that my brother's life threatening injury was caused by the sky rat.

"You placed the blade there, didn't you?" I accused. Pointing the blade at his throat.

"Whatever would give you that idea? Me harm a child of god? Never." The angel scoffed. "But it does look like your sibling is running out of time. It does look like a serious wound... and the way down is treacherous. Who's to say that your horse won't fall and send you both over the cliff?"

"You goddman-" I hissed.

"Watch the language." He hissed back.

"Of course I could guarantee safe passage down the mountain for you, but you'd have to do something for me in return."

"God fuck yourself." I cursed.

"I can't directly touch you, but I can twist objects and events to harm you indirectly. Be wise, child. Do you want your bother to die?"

At that point, I went into a blind rage and leapt at the angel, already blood-drenched blade at the ready as I jabbed the blade at the base of his throat and dragged it upwards to his chin. I twisted the blade upside down and hooked his voice box on the pointed edge and pulled out his severed vocal cords. While he grabbed at his throat in a bloody gurgle, I moved to his wings and fold them upside down and pulled. I heard gross snapping as his wings broke, but I didn't stop there. I continued to pull until tearing of the flesh could be seen, even then I did not stop until the wings broke free from his body. I tumbled backwards down the cliff and the blade I had used to assault the angel in turn stabbed me in the left side, poking through my ribs. I ripped a few feathers from the wings before I set them ablaze on the hillside. With the knife still embedded in my side, I made my way back up the mountain and walked over to my brother, who was drifting in and out of consciousness. I placed the feathers on his wounded leg. A glorious light flashed, and the feathers disappeared. After the light died out, my brother's wound was gone; though he was still in and out due to the tumble. I mounted the horse and before riding down the mountain, I looked back to see if the angel was there. He was not. He was at the bottom of the cliff trying to save his scorched wings.

"Don't threaten the lives of my family or my loved ones! If you try this horse-shit again, I'll make sure to deliver you to hell myself."
